Job summary

Liberty Mutual is seeking a Casualty Senior Claims Manager to guide a team of specialized Claims Managers across environmental, EPLI, E&O, mass tort, and related portfolios. You will shape strategy, oversee reserves, and coordinate with underwriters, actuarial and reinsurers to protect loss-cost integrity.

You will lead initiatives to counter litigation risk, monitor exposure trends, and drive strong claim outcomes while traveling as needed for stakeholder engagements and industry events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; JD, MBA, CPCU, or RPLU designations are a plus.
• Experience leading claims teams and developing leadership in others is required.
• Deep expertise across multiple casualty specialty lines and exposure types is expected.

Responsibilities

• Set the operational and technical direction of the team and develop specialized Claims Managers to drive performance.
• Collaborate with internal partners, legal counsel, underwriting, actuarial, risk control, and reinsurers on claim strategies.
• Lead strategies to counter legal system abuse and manage litigation risk.
• Monitor high-severity exposures using analytics and track litigation trends.
• Oversee reserve accuracy, settlement authorities, and litigation spend.
