Job summary

Great American Insurance Group's Alternative Markets unit is seeking a Senior Claims Specialist/Claims Technical Director to join the team. This fully remote role requires substantial experience in complex claims and may involve travel.

The position offers a salary range of $120,000.00–$150,000.00, with benefits including medical, dental, vision, and retirement plans. Candidates must have a New York Labor claims background and an active adjuster license, preferably in TX or FL.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
• Field of Study: Liberal Arts, Business or related discipline.
• 10+ years of related experience; NY Labor claims experience preferred.
• Active adjuster’s license, preferably TX or FL; willing to get licensed if none held.

Responsibilities

• Investigates and maintains claims: reviews coverage/liability and tenders.
• Secures and analyzes necessary information for investigation.
• Works toward resolution of claims; attends arbitrations, mediations, depositions, or trials.
• Establishes reserves and negotiates settlements within prescribed limits; reports exceedances.
• Conveys complex information to appropriate parties in a professional manner.
• Ensures timely and accurate claim payments.
• Ensures compliance with statutes, regulations, and company policies.
• Provides technical advice to lower-level positions and other areas.
• May supervise staff and participate in talent decisions.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
