Job summary

Waupaca Foundry, Inc. is North America’s leading supplier of iron castings with a strong heritage of quality and innovation. The role focuses on designing pattern gates and tooling, using simulation tools to meet plant quality and production goals.

The position requires a minimum of 12 years in tooling design, leadership experience, and a solid engineering foundation. You will lead cross-disciplinary teams, optimize tooling processes, and contribute to safe, cost-efficient operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, tooling design, or related field required; masters preferred.
• Minimum 12 years of tooling design/building experience.
• Experience managing employees.
• Advanced knowledge of VMM, core, and mill room tooling.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Ability to read and understand cost sheets.
• Knowledge of cast iron metallurgy and tool steels.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work with cross-disciplinary teams.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Design tooling patterns using casting principles and simulation software.
• Fill gaps in tooling engineering during vacations.
• Quote rapid proto work for plants.
• Lead tooling cost reduction projects (EVC/VCP).
