Job summary

Waupaca Foundry, Inc. is seeking an experienced Tooling Engineer to design pattern gating and tooling solutions, and to lead cost-reduction projects across multiple disciplines. The role requires a minimum of 12 years in tooling design and demonstrated leadership abilities.

The position involves collaborating with engineering teams, interpreting blueprints, and applying casting principles to meet plant quality and production goals. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 12 years of experience designing/building tooling.
  • Experience managing employees.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, tooling design, or related field; masters preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of VMM, core, and mill room tooling.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprint drawings.
  • Ability to lead a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to read and understand cost sheets.
  • Working knowledge of cast iron metallurgy and tool steels.
  • Must possess good written and oral communication skills.
  • Employ critical thinking, logic, and reasoning to troubleshoot and solve problems.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Prepare and present performance reviews.
  • Oversee safety and 6s programs.
  • Oversee training program.
  • Training other personnel as required.
  • Ensure department profitability/VCP goals are met.
