Job summary

Prattwhitney is seeking a Senior Casting Engineer for the Electric Systems Power Generation Department. You will support the design and manufacturing of castings for Integrated Drive Generators, Variable Frequency Generators, motors and ram air turbines, collaborating with design and manufacturing engineers and suppliers to meet cost, weight and reliability goals.

The role requires a STEM degree with 5+ years' experience (3+ with advanced degree), experience with complex geometry sand casting

Qualifications

• Degree in STEM with 5+ years experience, or advanced degree with 3+ years.
• Experience designing, producing, or supporting complex geometry sand-cast components for aerospace/high-tech industries.
• Proficiency in tooling design and evaluation for cast components (patterns, cores, gating, casting simulation).
• Experience developing, optimizing, troubleshooting manufacturing processes with plant sites and suppliers.
• Knowledge of machining and additive manufacturing as alternative processes.
• Strong root-cause analysis and corrective action skills.
• Review engineering drawings for feasibility and manufacturability.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Support aerospace component production, focusing on housings and other geometry sand casting practices.
• Conduct engineering drawing reviews for feasibility and manufacturability.
• Design and review tooling for cast components emphasizing producibility, quality, and cost.
• Collaborate with plant sites and suppliers to develop and refine processes and drive improvements.
• Create and implement standardized work procedures for consistency and efficiency.
• Analyze and reduce standard costs; implement cost-saving measures.
• Identify root causes of production issues and implement corrective actions.
• Travel 25–50%.
