Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent years of experience in lieu of education requirement.
• Less than 1 Year Experience using a computer.
• Less than 1 Year Experience using common retail technology.
• 1 Year Retail experience as a cashier.
• Ability to obtain sales related licensure or registration as may be required by law.
• Preferred: 1 Year Experience identifying and selling products based on customer needs, including credit cards, installations, add-on sales, protection plans, and explaining warranties, product features, and benefits
• Preferred: 1 Year Experience as a head cashier.
• Preferred: 1 Year Supervisory experience in any field.

Responsibilities

• Provides SMART customer service at all times through Lowe’s customer service policies, procedures and programs.
• Seeks out customers to understand his/her needs and assists in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise.
• Listens to and responds to customer and employee questions by guiding them through store areas.
• Communicates information to customers regarding stock, special order merchandise, feature benefits, application, and warranty information.
• Coaches, develops, provides feedback, and trains associates in the department duties or sales opportunities.
• Uses a cash register to process sales transactions, returns, and refunds according to guidelines.
• Removes security tags, verifies product information, and bags merchandise for customers.
• Inspects returned merchandise for damages.
• Enters and submits customer orders, prints order tickets, verifies receipts, and signs loading tickets.
• Looks up product information and competitor prices for price matching.
• Maintains store use lists.
• Completes cash counting and daily reconciliation duties.
• Monitors cash in drawer and recycler levels.
• Monitors store entrances/exits and assists customers or associates who trigger the alarm.
• Detects shoplifting and communicates to management or Asset Protection.
• Ensures housekeeping standards and Zone Recovery for cleanliness.
• Maintains a safe and secure work environment including daily safety reviews.
• Follows safety requirements for top stock, safety cables, aisle blockers, tether line, spotters, and safety devices.
• Operates store equipment as needed (e.g., Zebra phone, registers, CCTV, etc.).
• Performs other duties as assigned.
