Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent years of experience in lieu of education requirement, if applicable.
• Less than 1 Year Experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
• Less than 1 Year Experience using common retail technology, such as smart phones and tablets.
• 1 Year Retail experience as a cashier.
• Ability to obtain sales related licensure or registration as may be required by law.

Responsibilities

• Provides SMART customer service at all times through Lowe’s customer service policies, procedures and programs.
• Seeks out customers to understand needs and assists in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise.
• Listens to and responds to customer and employee questions, guiding them to areas of the store and through projects as needed.
• Communicates information to customers regarding stock, special orders, feature benefits, application, and warranty information.
• Coaches and trains associates in departmental duties or sales opportunities.
• Uses a cash register to process sales transactions, returns, and refunds per guidelines.
• Provides proper monetary change to Front End associates and ensures drawer integrity.
• Removes security tags, verifies product information, and bags merchandise for customers.
• Assists in line vesting to improve checkout turnaround and coverage.
• Prepares register area at shift start/end and ensures functionality of registers and scanners.
• Inspects returned merchandise for damages.
• Enters and submits customer orders, prints order tickets, verifies receipts, and signs loading tickets.
• Looks up product information and competitor prices for price matching.
• Records items used in the store on the store use lists and completes cash reconciliation duties.
• Monitors cash in drawer and cash recycler levels to stay within limits.
• Monitors merchandise flow at store entrances/exits and assists customers or associates triggering the alarm.
• Detects shoplifting signs and communicates them to management/Asset Protection.
• Maintains housekeeping standards and zone recovery for a clean store/work areas.
• Maintains a safe and secure work environment, including daily safety reviews and hazard notes.
• Adheres to safety requirements including top stock safety, cables, blockers, tether lines, spotters, and safety devices.
• Operates store equipment as needed (e.g., Zebra phone, cash recycler, copiers, CCTV, etc.).
• Performs other duties as assigned.
