Job summary

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED, or equivalent years of experience in lieu of education requirement, if applicable.
• Less than 1 Year Experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information
• Less than 1 Year Experience using common retail technology, such as smart phones and tablets
• 1 Year Retail experience as a cashier
• Ability to obtain sales related licensure or registration as may be required by law

Responsibilities

• Provides SMART customer service at all times through Lowe's policies and programs.
• Seeks out customers to understand needs and assists in locating, demonstrating, selecting, and loading merchandise
• Listens to and responds to customer questions and guides through projects when necessary
• Communicates information about stock, special orders, and warranty information to customers
• Coaches and trains associates in departmental duties and sales opportunities
• Uses cash register to process sales, returns, and refunds according to guidelines
• Removes security tags and bags merchandise for customers
• Prepares register area and maintains supplies
• Inspects returned merchandise for damages
• Looks up product info and price-match competitor items
• Records items used in the store on use lists
• Monitors cash in drawer and daily reconciliation duties
• Detects shoplifting signs and communicates to management
