Cash Reconciliation Accountant
Hybrid | 4 days in-office, 1 day remote
Turn your reconciliation expertise into your next career move.
Are you the accountant everyone turns to when the cash doesn't balance? Do you enjoy digging into discrepancies, solving complex reconciliation issues, and getting accounts clean and accurate?
This is an opportunity to put those strengths to work in a role where your expertise matters. We're seeking a detail-oriented, analytical accountant who knows cash reconciliations inside and out and can take ownership of complex, high-volume activity across multiple accounts and systems.
Strong Staff Accountants and Senior Accountants with deep, hands-on cash reconciliation experience are encouraged to apply. If cash reconciliations are your strength and you're ready for greater ownership, visibility, and the opportunity to improve processes, this could be an excellent next step in your accounting career.
The Opportunity
You'll play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of cash activity across bank accounts, the general ledger, and supporting transaction systems. From investigating unmatched transactions to resolving aging items and supporting the month-end close, you'll take ownership of the details that keep the accounting function running smoothly.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys solving problems, following transactions through to resolution, and finding better ways to work. You'll partner with teams across Accounting, Treasury, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, branch operations, and IT to resolve discrepancies, strengthen controls, and drive continuous improvement.
What You'll Do
- Own daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations of high-volume bank and cash accounts, ensuring transactions tie accurately to the general ledger and supporting systems.
- Investigate and resolve unmatched or unidentified cash activity, including deposits in transit, outstanding checks, bank fees, transfers, chargebacks, returned payments, and timing differences.
- Research discrepancies from source transaction through final accounting entry, identify root causes, and ensure reconciling items are resolved within established aging targets.
- Prepare and post adjusting journal entries, maintain clear supporting documentation, and ensure reconciliations are accurate, complete, and audit-ready.
- Use Trintech Matcher to load data, review matching results, manage reconciliation workflows, and support account certification.
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close, including rollforwards, exception reporting, and management schedules.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners to resolve issues, strengthen internal controls, and respond to audit requests.
- Identify opportunities to improve matching rules, streamline workflows, reduce manual work, and minimize aged reconciling items.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Seven or more years of hands-on cash reconciliation experience.
- Demonstrated ability to independently reconcile complex, high-volume cash activity and explain differences from source transactions through the general ledger.
- Strong investigative skills and a track record of resolving discrepancies, clearing aged items, and maintaining accurate reconciliation schedules.
- Advanced Excel skills, including lookups, pivot tables, and working with large data sets.
- Experience with ERP and banking systems; Workday Financials or a comparable enterprise financial system is a plus.
- Familiarity with Trintech Matcher or a similar automated reconciliation platform is preferred, but not required.
- A solid understanding of GAAP, journal entries, internal controls, month-end close, and audit support.
- Excellent attention to detail, sound analytical judgment, strong organization, and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams.
Why Consider This Opportunity?
- Build on what you do best. Put your cash reconciliation expertise to work in a role centered on investigation, accuracy, and problem-solving.
- Take ownership. Manage complex reconciliations and see issues through to resolution rather than simply passing exceptions along.
- Make an impact. Help strengthen controls, improve processes, and make reconciliation workflows more efficient.
- Expand your experience. Work across multiple teams and transaction systems while contributing to the broader accounting and close process.
- Take the next step. If you're a Staff or Senior Accountant with exceptional cash reconciliation skills, this is an opportunity to leverage that experience in a role with meaningful responsibility.

This is a hybrid position requiring four days in the office and one day working remotely each week.
