Hawkins Parnell & Young, LLP seeks an experienced Lead Cash Applications Specialist to manage posting of client and insurance payments, apply receipts to invoices, and reconcile accounts receivable in the firm's systems. This on-site role requires 5+ years in cash applications or AR, strong Excel and billing software skills, and meticulous accuracy in high-volume processing.

You will collaborate with insurance carriers and internal teams, support month-end closes, and help maintain audit-ready

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in cash applications, accounts receivable, or billing.
• Proficiency with accounting / billing software and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in high-volume transaction processing.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting with clients, adjustors and internal teams.

Responsabilités

• Post and apply client payments to invoices in Aderant.
• Monitor lockbox, EFT, and payment portals for receipts.
• Resolve unapplied cash, short pays, overpayments, and discrepancies.
• Reconcile cash receipts with deposits and GL entries.
• Communicate with insurance carriers regarding remittance details and discrepancies.
• Process refunds, write-offs, and adjustments per policy and client guidelines.
• Maintain remittance documentation for audit purposes.
• Generate cash application reports and aging reports.
• Assist with month-end close related to cash receipts and AR.
• Support audits with payment documentation as needed.
• Identify opportunities to improve cash application efficiency.
