Job summary

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalency.
• Experience: Four years of experience in repair/maintenance or inspection of gasoline/diesel vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Inspect for-hire passenger vehicles (buses, vans, limousines, cars) for compliance with Maryland laws and regulations.
• Review carriers' records to assess preventive maintenance and hours of service for drivers.
• Educate carriers on federal and state safety requirements.
• Remain certified by Maryland State Police to perform safety inspections.
• Prepare forms and memos related to inspections and safety.
• Participate in joint safety initiatives under MCSAP and Strike Force.
