Job summary

Good Samaritan in Waukon, IA is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist for PRN opportunities at the GSS IA Waukon Center. You will plan and deliver physical therapy programs to improve mobility and manage pain for residents in a Christian, not-for-profit setting.

Responsibilities include examinations, developing therapeutic plans, documenting progress, and educating residents and families. Licensure in state(s) of practice and BLS certification are required; valid driver’s license may be needed.

Qualifications

• Appropriate education level required in accordance with state licensure.
• Must be licensed in the state(s) of practice as a Physical Therapist.
• When applicable, may require valid driver's license.
• Obtains and maintains required department specific competencies and certifications. BLS for health care providers required or within the first 60 days of employment.
• Drug free workplace policy; pre-employment background screening may be required.

Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes and delivers physical therapy programs to help residents recover and improve mobility.
• Conducts examinations, evaluations, and interventions for residents affected by injury or disease.
• Educates residents and families about treatment plans and self-exercises to be continued at home.
• May supervise assistants, aides, and students as assigned by department leadership.
• May focus on post-acute, long-term care and home health care environments.
