Job summary

Elderhaus at the Lake in Wilmington, NC seeks a dedicated Personal Care Attendant (PCA) to provide hands-on care and engaging activities for older adults in our Adult Day Health Center. This role emphasizes independence and community participation while supporting daily living tasks.

You will assist with ADLs, lead group and individual activities, and help maintain a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment. Occasional transportation support may be required as part of the role.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 1 year of experience working with elderly or frail adults required.
• Valid driver’s license, insurance, and reliable transportation required.
• CPR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide ADLs assistance (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, mobility).
• Lead and participate in group and one-on-one activities to promote socialization and wellbeing.
• Monitor participants’ status and report changes to the care team.
• Support meals, laundry, and maintain a clean, safe environment.
• Occasional transportation support: loading/unloading and escorting participants.
• Follow individualized care plans and maintain accurate documentation.
• Promote participant dignity, privacy, and independence.
