Job summary

The West Side Federation for Senior and Supportive Housing, Inc. (WSFSSH) is seeking a full-time Personal Care Medication Aide (MPCA) in New York, NY. The role supports safe medication administration and hands-on personal care for older adults in a nonprofit housing setting.

Under the Clinical Coordinator, you will follow care plans and policies, perform routine tasks, and assist residents while maintaining dignity and independence in a resident-centered environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Successful completion of a state-approved Medication Aide / Medication Administration training program.
• CPR/First Aid certification required or ability to obtain soon.
• PCA and/or HHA certification preferred for personal care duties.

Responsibilities

• Assist with self-administration of routine medications as permitted by state regulations and organizational policy.
• Follow rights of medication administration and infection control practices.
• Support pharmacy coordination tasks (deliveries, refills, shortages).
• Observe and report changes in resident condition and safety risks.
• Respond to urgent situations per protocol and elevate as needed.
• Prepare medication area; verify orders/MAR; check expiration dates; store medications securely.
