Job summary

West Side Federation for Senior and Supportive Housing, Inc. seeks a Personal Care Medication Aide (MPCA) to provide hands-on personal care and assist with safe medication administration for older adults in a nonprofit housing setting. This is a full-time, onsite role in New York, with a schedule of 35 hours per week.

You will follow care plans, maintain HIPAA standards, and document care activities while promoting dignity and independence for residents who may have complex needs or disabilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required (or preferred based on program requirements).
• Successful completion of a state-approved Medication Aide / Medication Administration training program and demonstrated competency evaluation.
• PCA and/or HHA certification or completion of an approved personal care training program is highly preferred.
• CPR/First Aid certification required or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe.

Responsibilities

• Assist with self-administration of routine medications as permitted by state regulations and organizational policy.
• Follow the rights of medication administration and infection control practices.
• Support pharmacy coordination tasks such as deliveries, refills, and shortages communications.
• Observe and report changes in resident condition and safety risks.
• Prepare medication area and verify orders/MAR; check expiration dates; store medications securely.
