Job summary

San Joaquin Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Bakersfield, CA is seeking an experienced Cook to join our Dietary Services team. You will prepare nutritious meals according to physician-ordered diets and approved menus, while maintaining high food safety standards.

This full-time role requires ServSafe certification or ability to obtain, plus a high school diploma and at least one year of healthcare cooking experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of cooking experience in a hospital, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or long-term care facility preferred.
• ServSafe certification required or ability to obtain and maintain certification.

Responsibilities

• Prepare nutritious meals per approved menus and standardized recipes.
• Cook a variety of foods in large quantities while maintaining quality.
• Follow portion control guidelines and therapeutic diet requirements.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary kitchen and work areas.
• Assist with meal service and resident dining experience.
