Job summary

Good Samaritan in Beatrice, NE is seeking a dedicated cook to prepare and serve meals for patients and staff. You will follow menu guidelines, ensure sanitation, and operate a variety of kitchen equipment in a dynamic hospital setting.

The role requires basic math, reading and following recipes, with on-the-job training provided. Some locations may require Serv Safe; BLS may be needed in certain areas.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to read, write and follow directions; basic math skills.
• On-the-job training provided; Serv Safe may be required depending on location.
• Basic Life Support may be required depending on location.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, assemble baked goods, cook, season and portion food per menu and dietary needs.
• Maintain sanitation and HACCP compliance; document HACCP steps and temps.
• Operate kitchen equipment and manage labeling and storage.
• Work with staff and communicate effectively to serve patients and visitors.
