Job summary

High Shoals Health in Bishop, GA is hiring a full-time Cook to prepare meals according to dietician-approved menus for residents. You will operate kitchen equipment, maintain sanitation, and help ensure meals are prepared in large quantities with accurate portioning.

Responsibilities include following recipes, monitoring temperatures, and assisting in serving meals while supporting a respectful, team-oriented dining program for residents and staff.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or its equivalent preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates.

Responsibilities

• Prepares various foods depending on menu created by dieticians for each meal of the day.
• Operates kitchen equipment such as mixer, meat slicer, food processor, oven and steamer.
• Cleans work surfaces and stores unused foods following shift.
• Creates meals in large quantities appropriate for elderly residents.
• Maintains infection control and keeps equipment clean at all times.
• Ensures meals are served on time with proper portion controls.
• Follows standardized recipes and diet orders as provided.
