Good Samaritan Canistota is seeking a Medication Assistant (MA) to provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under a charge nurse's supervision. Responsibilities include assisting with basic health needs, vitals, and comfort, while maintaining a positive dining experience for residents.

The role requires CNA certification where applicable, age 18+, and adherence to state training and competency standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
• Minimum age 18 preferred.
• Complete yearly department competency testing and continuing education credits.
• State-specific CNA certifications and training requirements.
• Minnesota/North Dakota/South Dakota: state CNA certification and training requirements.
• Iowa: Certified Nursing Assistant certification with State Board of Nursing.
• Must maintain CMA/TMA certification where applicable.
• Active CNA registration or ability to obtain within 120 days.

Responsabilités

• Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance.
• Administer prescribed medications as delegated by a licensed nurse.
• Document care, medications, behavior, activity, and dietary outcomes.
• Communicate changing conditions and care concerns to the charge nurse.
• Assist with transferring, positioning, and mobility using safe techniques.
• Assist with meals and dining to ensure a positive dining experience.
• Support wellness and recreational program participation.
