Westerly Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Westerly, RI is seeking an Activities Assistant to create engaging programs for residents. Full-time and daily pay available, with compensation of $16-$19 per hour.

You will document participation, collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, and help plan recreational and social activities to support residents' social, emotional, and physical wellbeing. A high school diploma is required; experience with seniors is preferred; strong communication

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of experience in an Activities Department or healthcare setting preferred.
• Experience working with seniors is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming, engaging environment that enhances residents' quality of life.
• Document resident participation and engagement in activities.
• Promote wellbeing through meaningful activities and interactions.
• Plan, develop, organize, and implement recreational and community programs.
• Build relationships with residents and encourage participation based on interests.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support care goals.
• Observe changes in mood or participation and communicate with the team.
• Assist with outreach and marketing events showcasing resident-centered care.
• Complete administrative tasks including audits and program records.
• Prepare, decorate, set up, and break down activities and events.
• Escort and transport residents to activities as needed.
