Job summary

Brown University Health is seeking a Cardiac Ultrasound Technologist II to evaluate heart function using ultrasound and to acquire high-quality images for cardiologists.

The role involves performing stress echocardiograms, maintaining equipment, and ensuring patient safety and comfort in the Echocardiography Laboratory at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, RI. Strong knowledge of cardiac pathology and artifact-free imaging is essential.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in sciences to understand physiology of cardiac disease.
• CAAHEP-accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography or Cardiovascular Technology program preferred.
• ARDMS Adult Echocardiography and Physics or RCS eligibility within 2 years of employment.

Responsibilities

• Performs clinical assessment and diagnostic echocardiography examinations including M-Mode, 2D, Doppler and Color Doppler.
• Uses cognitive skills to identify and adapt procedures to anatomical and diagnostic information.
• Maintains patient safety and comfort, and explains procedures to patients.
