Job summary

Ideal candidates have 2+ years of surgical tech experience, CST certification, and strong infection control practices. The role emphasizes leadership, staff mentorship, and adherence to safety protocols in a high-acuity setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
• Current CST credential.
• Minimum 2 years of recent surgical tech experience, with experience in open heart or cardiac surgery required.
• BLS (AHA-certified)

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain the sterile operating field.
• Assist surgeons during cardiac procedures by passing instruments and anticipating needs.
• Operate and troubleshoot specialized surgical equipment.
• Ensure proper handling and accountability of surgical instruments and supplies.
• Support and mentor junior surgical techs and assist with staff training.
• Strictly adhere to infection control and patient safety protocols.
• Document procedures and maintain accurate records.
