Job summary

UNC Rex Healthcare is seeking a Cardiac Sonographer to perform high quality transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiograms, Definity contrast, saline bubble study, and stress echo. Reports are prepared for a Cardiologist interpretation.

Pediatric experience is a plus in our heart and vascular hospital with multiple ICUs. The role requires ARDMS/CCI registration or eligibility with preference for RDCS/RCS; responsibilities include pre/post-procedure care, equipment maintenance, data entry, and

Qualifications

• Association/certification requirements include ARDMS, CCI or registry-eligibility with 1-year to become registered.

Responsibilities

• Delivers pre- and post-procedure patient care including assessment and emergency cardiac care (CPR required).
• Maintains equipment calibration and quality assurance; reports issues.
• Generates and analyzes heart ultrasound images and vascular studies; prepares reports for Cardiologist review.
• Performs neonatal/pediatric studies and may train staff as a subject matter expert.
