Job summary

Qualifications

• Formal training from an accredited medical sonography program specializing in cardiac sonography.
• Credentialed by ARDMS RDCS or RCS; BLS certification.
• Minimum 3 years of technical experience; experience educating students.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operation of cardiac testing and address non-compliant issues with Sr Practice Manager.
• Develop schedules to meet customer and department needs; adjust staffing for appointment availability.
• Review protocols with Cardiologists and recommend changes to Sr Practice Manager.
• Ensure echocardiogram images are of optimum quality for accurate interpretation by Cardiologists.
• Monitor report turnaround times and direct reports to appropriate Cardiologists.
• Lead training of physicians and staff on echo PACS and act as primary troubleshooter for system problems.
• Oversee maintenance of echo equipment and liaison with Clinical Engineering.
• Coordinate cardiologist availability and TEEs; arrange on-site in-service education for echo staff.
• Counsels staff on HR policies and performs yearly evaluations with Sr Practice Manager.
• Maintain compliance with Heywood Healthcare policies and HIPAA; promote patient-centered care.
