Job summary

MLK Community Healthcare in Los Angeles, CA seeks an experienced echocardiography technologist to perform adult transthoracic echocardiograms and related studies with advanced Doppler techniques.

The role includes assisting with TEE, maintaining equipment, and ensuring accurate measurements and preliminary findings Qualified candidates will hold ARDMS RDCS or RDMS certification, or RCS via CCI with substantial experience, and have a minimum of two years of echocardiography experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience performing echocardiograms.
• Credentialed ARDMS RDCS or RDMS required; RCS via CCI considered with 5 years experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform adult transthoracic echocardiograms (2D, Color Doppler, tissue Doppler).
• Assist with transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE).
• Make and verify measurements with accurate, reproducible results; provide preliminary findings.
• Prepare rooms, verify orders, set up recording equipment, document patient data.
• Explain procedures to reduce patient anxiety; answer questions.
• Place electrodes, connect ECG leads, and prepare patient for testing.
• Review patient records and provide pre-procedure instructions.
• Monitor patients during procedures and report abnormalities.
• Identify and correct for motion, interference and artifacts.
• Edit results and forward to attending physician for interpretation.
• Maintain ECG, echocardiography and stress equipment and supplies.
• Perform other duties within scope as assigned.
