Job summary

Port Houston is seeking a seasoned Project Manager to independently oversee capital projects from initiation through commissioning and startup. You will coordinate with Facilities Planning, manage consultants and contractors, and ensure delivery aligns with scope, cost, schedule, and stakeholder objectives.

The role requires 6+ years in project management or engineering, a related degree, and professional licensure preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture; advanced degree preferred.
  • 6+ years of progressive project management and/or engineering experience.
  • Texas Professional Engineer License and/or equivalent years of engineering and/or project management experience preferred; PMP is a plus.
  • Demonstrated delivery of at least one medium sized project through full lifecycle.
  • PMP certification preferred; required within 18 months of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Independently manages multiple small to medium projects from development to commissioning and start‑up.
  • Perform project management activities on port infrastructure projects.
  • Interface with Facilities Planning for project definition and capital planning alignment.
  • Support full Project Life Cycle: Identify, Select, Define, Execute, Closeout.
  • Assist in scope, cost, and schedule development and control.
  • Coordinate with consultants and contractors; oversee field execution.
  • Lead construction phase alignment between objectives and field work with Construction Managers.
  • Collaborate with Project Controls for cost tracking and schedule updates.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and Port Houston standards.
