Job summary

County of Marin’s Department of Public Works seeks a Capital Planning and Project Manager III to lead complex capital projects from construction through closeout. You’ll coordinate with design-phase managers, establish contracts with consultants, and ensure on-time, within-budget delivery while upholding safety standards.

The ideal candidate will oversee project teams, liaise with multiple departments, and drive accountability across programs, leveraging experience in public/private sector

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 4 years of project management experience in public or private construction.
• Experience managing complex public and private construction projects.
• Desirable PMI/CMI certification or advanced degree.

Responsibilities

• Lead capital improvement projects from construction through closeout.
• Coordinate with design-phase managers and establish contracts with consultants.
• Ensure projects stay within budget and schedule while meeting safety standards.
• Provide leadership to staff and collaborate with county departments and contractors.
