Job summary

Cognizant Consulting in the United States is seeking a Senior Manager – Capital Markets Domain Consultant to lead the discovery, design, and delivery of core post-trade capabilities being rebuilt from the mainframe for the client’s institutional brokerage business.

You will mentor consultants, collaborate with Managing Directors, Operations, and Engineering teams, and shape target-state solutions, leveraging AI-enabled approaches to accelerate delivery.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of overall professional experience in capital markets, financial services operations, consulting, technology transformation or related areas.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in capital markets post-trade, operations or consulting within a broker-dealer, clearing firm, custodian or investment bank.
• Proven track record leading large, complex transformation or modernization programs for Tier 1 investment banks or similar financial institutions.
• Deep hands-on experience across multiple domain capabilities such as Equities Trade Processing, Margin & Risk, Ledgers & Cash Management, Regulatory Reporting, Settlements & P&C, and Client Reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead and own one or more capability workstreams across the capital markets post-trade program, driving discovery and reverse engineering of existing mainframe capabilities.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to the client's Managing Directors, Operations, and Engineering leadership - guiding critical design decisions and resolving complex functional trade-offs.
• Translate deep domain expertise in the securities trade lifecycle (middle and back office) into actionable business rules, target-state designs, and road maps.
• Oversee the production of high-quality specifications, acceptance criteria, and evidence packs for the team.
• Champion AI-enabled approaches to accelerate discovery and reverse engineering across identified capability areas.
• Mentor and develop Senior Associates and Associates; manage delivery against scope, timeline, and quality commitments.
