Western Alliance Bank is seeking a Senior Capital Markets & Investment Portfolio Risk Analyst to oversee risk across investment securities, mortgage assets, and loans held for sale. You will partner with Treasury and Mortgage Capital Markets to evaluate exposures, challenge assumptions, and strengthen risk governance.

The role requires a strong analytical background, experience in risk management, and the ability to deliver clear risk reporting to senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, mathematics, or related field.
• CFA/FRM preferred.
• 4+ years in Asset Liability Management or related field with strong analytics.
• Familiarity with fixed income securities, derivatives, and hedging instruments.
• Understanding of regulatory frameworks and risk management principles.
• Second line of defense principles knowledge.
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Independently review risk exposures within investment securities, mortgage servicing assets, and loans held for sale portfolios.
• Monitor hedging strategies and portfolio performance under various market conditions.
• Review and validate risk models outputs, stress tests and assumptions.
• Evaluate emerging market developments and their impact on asset performance and risk exposures.
• Produce and enhance risk reporting delivered to executive management and governance committees.
• Monitor adherence to Board-approved risk limits and regulatory requirements.
• Build relationships across Treasury and Mortgage Capital Markets teams to gather data for risk oversight.
