Job summary

NV Energy in Nevada seeks a seasoned project leader to plan and deliver complex capital construction projects across offices and facilities. You will guide scope, budget, schedule, procurement, and risk management while coordinating architects, engineers, and contractors.

You will manage projects through design, construction, commissioning, turnover, and closeout, ensuring safety, regulatory compliance, and minimal disruption to operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school in construction management, engineering, architecture, project management, or a related field and a minimum of five years of progressively responsible construction project management experience.
• Candidates who do not possess a bachelor’s degree must have a minimum of 9 years of progressively responsible construction project management experience.
• Construction and project management practice including project scope development and scope control.
• Commercial and industrial construction methods and sequencing.
• Critical Path Method scheduling.
• Work breakdown structures, milestones, dependencies, and schedule forecasting.
• Capital budgeting, estimating, forecasting, cash-flow planning, contingency management, and cost control.
• Construction procurement and contracting methods.
• Contract administration, contractor performance management, change orders, claims, and dispute resolution.
• Local, state, and federal permitting requirements.
• Applicable building codes, life-safety requirements, accessibility standards, and construction requirements.
• Construction safety and contractor safety oversight.
• Quality assurance, quality control, inspections, commissioning, and project closeout.
• General building and office systems.
• Physical security and access-control systems
• Construction activities in occupied and operational facilities.
• Project governance, financial controls, document control, and executive reporting.

Responsibilities

• Leads development and execution of project plans including scope, budget, schedule, and procurement.
• Manages capital construction projects through planning, design, procurement, construction, and turnover.
• Translates business requirements into actionable scope of work and recommends approvals.
• Establishes project objectives, milestones, and decision-making processes.
• Coordinates architectural, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and other project needs.
• Leads procurement activities, contract negotiations, and vendor selections.
• Administers contracts, purchase orders, and project agreements.
• Ensures compliance with policies, codes, and regulatory requirements.
• Monitors project performance and reports to stakeholders.
• Facilitates meetings, documents decisions, and tracks action items.
• Coordinates construction phasing, site logistics, safety, and operational transitions.
• Manages construction activities in occupied facilities with minimal disruption.
