Job summary

State of New York, USA is seeking a Senior Capital Construction Oversight Specialist for the MTA Inspector General, Office of. You will conduct reviews of capital construction contracts and related processes to identify fraud and mismanagement, and work with a team on investigations and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in fields such as construction management, engineering, architecture, business, public administration, accounting.
• Seven years of experience OR a trade license plus ten years; supervisory experience required.
• Analytical and investigative/research aptitude with strong written skills.

Responsibilities

• Conducts reviews of the MTA capital construction contracts, processes, procurement, billings, and management to identify fraud and abuse.
• Identifies risk, mismanagement, and safety concerns and formulates recommendations.
• Works with a team on planning, conducting, and reporting investigations and reviews regarding capital construction and maintenance programs.
• Conducts interviews of agency personnel, vendors, contractors, and other interested parties.
• Analyzes contracts, billings, inspection records, payroll and other records for audit objectives.
• Drafts memoranda of interviews, investigative efforts, and related work products.
• Authors/reports with recommendations and conclusions; testifies in hearings as required.
• Develops and maintains professional relationships and learns evolving MTA operations.
• Travel within the MTA geographic jurisdiction; hybrid telework allowed per policy.
