Job summary

Civicworks is seeking a Capital Construction Oversight Specialist to support the MTA Inspector General in reviewing capital construction contracts, procurement, and program management for fraud and abuse in New York City.

The role requires conducting investigations and audits, analyzing financial and contract records, interviewing agency personnel and contractors, and preparing investigative reports with recommendations; travel within the MTA jurisdiction is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 3 years experience or trade license with 5 years relevant experience
• Analytical, critical thinking, impartial judgment, and investigative aptitude
• Experience conducting interviews of field personnel and management
• Proficiency in gathering, analyzing, and writing about information
• Experience in construction industry or project management preferred
• Knowledge of public sector procurement, contracts, capital budgeting, safety/OSHA requirements, and design/construction processes preferred

Job description

The Capital Construction Oversight Specialist assists the MTA Inspector General in reviewing capital construction contracts, procurement, and management to identify fraud and abuse. The role involves conducting investigations and audits of MTA capital construction programs, analyzing financial and contract records, interviewing agency personnel and contractors, and preparing investigative reports with recommendations. The position is located in New York City and requires travel within the MTA geographic jurisdiction and site visits to active construction locations.
