Host Hotels & Resorts, L.P. seeks a Staff Accountant/Senior Accountant to oversee capital asset accounting for a portfolio of hotels, ensuring GAAP and SOX compliance and accurate recording. The role emphasizes collaboration across teams and leveraging technology for process improvements.

You will partner with property teams, Capital Financial Services, and IT to improve reporting, prepare monthly/quarterly statements, and support audits, with opportunities for growth for proactive individuals.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Accounting/Finance from accredited university/college.
• Two to four years of progressive accounting experience.
• Real estate/hotel industry experience preferred.
• CPA or progress toward CPA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Validate Capex spend submissions by confirming proper coding and posting to the General Ledger.
• Analyze Work-in-Progress and Due To/From Manager for Owner-Funded Capex; prepare adjustments as needed.
• Complete quarterly FF&E escrow reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in compliance with SOX.
• Coordinate with Capital Financial Services and IT to align Workday and Champion for cost reporting.
• Process asset dispositions, recording proceeds and retirements in Workday.
• Support internal and external audit requests related to capital expenditures and asset accounting.
• Assist with additional assignments and special projects as directed.
