Job summary

Park Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Staff Accountant, Capital Projects to own the CAPEX lifecycle across a multi-hotel portfolio. You will apply GAAP, input CAPEX invoices, and maintain fixed asset reporting.

Based in Tysons, VA with in-person work Monday–Thursday and optional remote on Friday, the role partners with Accounts Payable, Asset Management, and Hotel Accounting to drive accurate capitalization and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Experience with reconciliations, journal entries, and close activities.
• Proficiency in Excel and data analysis functions.
• Experience with fixed asset accounting and capitalization processes.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate contracts and invoices for proper GAAP accounting treatment.
• Input and code CAPEX invoices in the accounting system.
• Maintain capital projects in the accounting system from inception to capitalization.
• Monitor CIP accounts and coordinate capitalization of completed assets.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly fixed asset reporting deliverables (journal entries, reconciliations, depreciation forecasts).
• Assist with monthly fixed asset rollforward preparation.
• Investigate variances and unusual transactions and recommend resolutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders on fixed assets and capitalization questions.
• Identify process improvements and strengthen internal controls in capital projects workflows.
