Anthropic is seeking aSenior Engineering Manager for Capacity Engineering in San Francisco to lead and grow a hands-on team responsible for data platform, planning & assurance, and efficiency of compute resources. You will set technical direction, manage senior staff, and ensure reliability across production systems.

The role requires close collaboration with research, infrastructure, finance, and leadership, with on-site responsibility five days a week.

Qualifications

Experience leading software or infrastructure teams, including hiring and performance management.
Strong background in production systems, distributed infra, and observability.
Hands-on review of designs and incident handling, with cloud/Kubernetes expertise.

Responsibilities

Be hands-on, lead and grow the team.
Own the roadmap translating compute strategy into an engineering plan.
Review designs and uphold production standards (SLOs, latency).
Run the team as a product organization with clear requirements and schemas.
Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to align capacity decisions and spend.
Drive reliability and incident response for load-bearing systems.
