Job summary

Texas State Technical College (TSTC) seeks a Senior Custodial Worker to oversee daily custodial operations and assist the Custodial Manager in scheduling and supervising staff. The role ensures a welcoming, hygienic campus environment for students and staff.

Responsibilities include supervising teams, managing cleaning procedures, coordinating emergencies, and enforcing safety protocols while maintaining equipment and vehicle operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Four years experience in the understanding/application of modern methods of building clearing, equipment operation, and application of chemical solutions.
• Certificates in Custodial related fields.
• Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
• Valid Texas Driver's License and insurability under TSTC Liability Policy.

Responsibilities

• Lead and assist in supervising a team of custodial staff.
• Understand cleaning procedures and use of equipment across environments.
• Schedule and coordinate cleaning, respond to emergencies and special projects.
• Control building access with appropriate accompaniment.
• Manage checkout of tools, equipment, and supplies.
• Operate state vehicles and equipment safely.
• Communicate custodial needs and services with faculty, staff, and students.
• Perform physically demanding tasks; lift 30-60 lbs as needed.
• Follow safety requirements and protect against hazards.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
