Chartwells Higher Education Dining Services is hiring for a full-time Cook, Sr at the University of Chicago. The role requires flexibility for days, evenings, weekends, and holidays, with a starting pay range of $25.16–$26.59 per hour. Benefits include shift meals, free uniforms and safety shoes, and proximity to public transit.

Location for this posting is Chicago, IL, with on-site work. Previous dishwashing experience is preferred and HACCP compliance is expected.

Qualifications

• Previous dishwashing experience is preferred.
• Evening, weekend, and holiday availability may be required.
• Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Ability to oversee cooking activities and support food service staff.
• Ability to maintain accurate production records and reports.

Responsibilities

• May oversee the cooking activities of food service associates as assigned by Food Service Director.
• Prepares various entrees and menu items following established recipes.
• Operates and cleans equipment after each use. Performs scheduled routine cleaning.
• Stores, labels and dates food items according to policy.
• Helps maintain organized storage of dry goods and refrigerated and frozen products.
• Follows HACCP guidelines to ensure quality and safety of food supply.
• Complies with health and sanitation regulations and department procedures.
• Assists in maintaining daily production records and required documentation.
• Assists in cross training of employees.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
