Job summary

Apple in Cupertino, CA is seeking a Simulation Engineer for the Camera Modeling and Simulation team. You will design, develop, and maintain high-throughput simulation frameworks to generate synthetic imagery from sensor to lens.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define hardware specs and KPIs for camera and machine-vision applications. Experience in optics, imaging, or computer vision required; MS/PhD preferred.

Qualifications

• BS in optics, physics, or related field with 10+ years of industry experience.
• Programming in Python, C, C++, or MATLAB.
• Proficiency with Zemax, CodeV, LightTools, or similar optics packages.
• Experience in imaging system design, computational imaging, or related areas.

Responsibilities

• Develop models and simulation studies to characterize end-to-end performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define hardware specs and metrics.
• Partner with metrology and calibration teams to ensure simulation accuracy.
