Job summary

Apple Inc. seeks a Modeling & Simulation Engineer for the Camera & Depth Architecture team in Cupertino. You will design, maintain high-throughput simulation frameworks and model camera systems from sensor to lens to mimic real-world imaging performance.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years in optics/physics/EE, strong coding in Python or C/C++, and a track record in imaging or computational photography. This on-site role offers comprehensive benefits and relocation support.

Qualifications

BS and 10+ years in Optics, Physics, Electrical Engineering or related field.
Experience with Python, C, C++ or Matlab.
Experience in imaging, optical design, computational imaging, or similar.
MS/PhD in Optics, Physics, EE or related field preferred.
Project management or driving projects independently in ambiguous spaces.
Publications in imaging, computational photography, or related fields.
Experience with diffraction, raytracing, beam propagation, radiometry or sensor physics.
Synthetic data generation for ML training pipelines in imaging.

Responsibilities

Develop models and conduct simulation studies to characterize end-to-end performance (hardware and software).
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define hardware design specifications and KPIs for photographic and machine-vision applications.
Partner with metrology and calibration teams to ensure simulation accuracy and communicate findings to stakeholders.
