Job summary

Lucid Motors in Wisconsin is seeking an experienced Camera Hardware Engineer to evaluate sensor prototypes and guide partners through design, prototyping, qualification, and production ramp. You will define signals between sensors and vehicle systems, lead vehicle-level verification, and support calibration and manufacturing processes.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Product Design, Electrical, Optical, and Quality to deliver reliable imaging for Lucid's next generation vehicles.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in camera hardware development, prototyping, testing, and lab validation.
• Camera module design principles with image quality fundamentals.
• Lab experiments for camera testing.
• Strong Electrical/EMC validation testing.
• Vehicle networks: automotive Ethernet, CAN, LIN.
• Experience with Git/Jenkins for regression testing.
• Sensor calibration and validation methods.
• Optical study of image sensor and lens combinations.
• Knowledge of camera SerDes architecture.
• Excellent communication and supplier/project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate capabilities of state-of-the-art image sensor prototypes.
• Lead manufacturing partners on camera hardware design evaluation, prototyping, qualification, and production bring up.
• Develop camera requirements and specifications for design, test, and manufacturing of camera modules.
• Define signals exchanged between sensors and other vehicle systems.
• Be responsible for vehicle-level verification, validation, and tuning of sensor hardware.
• Assist in sensor calibration and production manufacturing processes.
• Interact with cross-functional engineering teams for camera hardware development and system integration.
• Work with internal labs and manufacturing sites on camera sub-system validation and testing.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose problems using diagnostic tools.
• Failure analysis and debugging of camera hardware at module and product level.
• Design methodologies to identify, reproduce and fix complex design problems.
