Job summary

SIMCO is seeking a Calibration Technician C to apply measurement science, mathematics, physics, and electronics to calibrate inspection and test equipment across acoustical, chemical, dimensional, and other disciplines. The role requires independent work, strong problem-solving, and compliance with specifications.

Responsibilities include maintaining calibration standards, performing maintenance and repairs, developing procedures, collecting data, and reporting results.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to perform general math and algebra functions.
• Understanding of Basic Statistics.
• Must possess good written and oral, communication skills.
• Technical writing ability.
• Intermediate ability to troubleshoot repair, align and optimize precision equipment.
• Proficient in use of MS Word and Excel.
• Minimum three years of calibration experience some of which can be offset with formal metrology training.
• Knowledge of Quality Management system (ISO 9001, ISO 17025 and ANSI Z540).
• Must have great interpersonal and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Calibrate inspection, measurement, and test equipment in multiple disciplines to ensure specifications.
• Maintain calibration standards and reports.
• Perform maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of precision equipment.
• Develop calibration procedures according to detailed specifications.
• Collect and record data from calibrations.
• Identify and correct out-of-tolerance conditions and errors.
• Prepare calibration reports and certificates.
• Train subordinates in calibration concepts and procedures.
• Interact with customers and internal teams.
• Travel to domestic and possibly international locations.
