Job summary

SIMCO Electronics is seeking a Calibration Technician B to apply math, physics and electronics knowledge to calibrate inspection, measurement, and test equipment across acoustical, chemical, dimensional, DC/Low Frequency, RF/Microwave, fluid, mechanical, optical, thermodynamics, and time & frequency disciplines. The role involves semi-routine tasks, data collection, and reporting.

You will maintain calibration standards, troubleshoot equipment, and potentially travel to client sites or SIMCO

Qualifications

• Minimum High School diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to perform general math and algebra.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Basic troubleshooting and alignment of precision equipment.
• Proficient with MS Word and Excel.
• Minimum one year of calibration experience.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Detail oriented; self-motivated and team player.

Responsibilities

• Calibrate IMTE across multiple disciplines to published specs.
• Maintain secondary and/or working calibration standards.
• Perform basic maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of precision equipment.
• Collect, summarize, and record calibration data.
• Identify out-of-tolerance conditions and apply corrective actions.
• Identify and correct measurement errors as applicable.
• Prepare calibration reports and certificates.
• Adapt equipment and techniques for unique tasks.
• Train subordinates in calibration concepts.
• Interact with technicians, customer service reps, account managers, and customers.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
