Job summary

Teradyne in Agoura Hills seeks a Senior Calibration Engineer to lead calibration architecture for Digital, DC, AC and RF instruments in the Compute Test division. You will own calibration development and act as a hands-on technical lead across a small team, coordinating with hardware, software and test groups in a multi-site environment.

You will mentor 3-4 calibration engineers, drive validation tests using Verilog, SPICE and bench instrumentation, and contribute to hiring and onboarding.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience developing calibration, measurement, test or instrumentation systems, including hardware/software integration.
• BS, MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Strong programming skills in C, C++, C# and/or Python for instrument control, data acquisition and algorithm development.
• Hands-on experience with precision measurement, calibration methods, error analysis and statistical data analysis.
• Experience with bench instrumentation (DMM, oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, power meter) and with automating measurements.
• Demonstrated technical leadership: leading projects, mentoring engineers, or directing the work of others.
• Clear communicator who can influence across HW, SW and test functions and multiple sites.

Responsibilities

• Own the calibration architecture and strategy for assigned instruments in ATE equipment, from requirements through production release.
• Develop and review calibration programs and embedded algorithms in C/C++/C# and Python.
• Lead root-cause analysis of calibration and HW performance issues, and drive corrective action with cross-functional teams across sites.
• Define offline and online tests that validate instrument calibration and HW performance, including simulation with Verilog and SPICE.
• Lead 3-4 calibration engineers: set technical direction, assign and prioritize work, and review designs, code and documentation.
