Job Overview

CAD Technician III will act as the Lead Drafter on all projects, responsible for modeling, detailing, and checking erection/production drawings, as well as maintaining internal scheduling to meet project requirements and deadlines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create initial models for erection drawings from architectural/structural plans and trade documents
  • Draw/check steel assemblies for production and erection hardware as needed
  • Collaborate with internal teams and architects to ensure models and drawings are complete and accurate
  • Communicate effectively with internal departments and external partners to ensure project success
  • Participate in job meetings and site visits as required
  • Apply best practices to optimize project production and completion
  • Ensure data flow from Revit models to Concrete Vision
  • Lead project flow management to meet milestones
  • Lead meetings to address project delays
  • Check models for proper assembly placement and details
  • Coordinate with outsourced drafting and engineering resources
  • Mentor and coach team members

CAD Technician III reports to the Drafting Manager, with assignments issued accordingly.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Preferred: 2-4 year drafting degree
  • 4+ years in a related field
  • Preferred: 3 years of Precast experience
  • Motivated and self-driven
  • Strong communication skills
  • Problem-solving ability
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints and plans
  • Ability to visualize materials assembly
  • Meet deadlines and handle multiple projects
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office
  • Organizational and time management skills
