Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a CAD Engineer focused on compute infrastructure to support our Custom ASIC Silicon (CAS) team. You will build and maintain high-performance compute environments and ensure reliable EDA tool access for design and verification.

The role requires strong scripting, Linux HPC experience, and familiarity with cloud-based EDA infrastructure and container technologies to optimize on-premise and cloud workflows.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 10+ years of CAD/EDA infrastructure or semiconductor design environments.
• Experience managing compute infrastructure for ASIC design teams.
• Familiarity with EDA license server management (FlexLM/FlexNet).
• Strong scripting skills (Python, shell, Perl, or Tcl).
• Experience with version control systems (Git, Perforce) in hardware design.
• Knowledge of Linux-based HPC environments.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain compute infrastructure supporting CAS design and verification activities
• Configure and manage EDA tool environments and license servers for the CAS engineering team
• Support the deployment of high-performance computing (HPC) clusters and storage systems for large-scale simulation and verification workloads
• Implement continuous integration systems for design validation within the CAS flow
• Monitor compute resource utilization and provide capacity planning recommendations
• Manage EDA tool access, licensing, and version control across the CAS team
• Collaborate with IT and infrastructure teams to optimize on-premise and cloud-based design environments
• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues impacting design team productivity
• Develop and document infrastructure best practices and standard operating procedures for the CAS organization
