Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a CAD Engineer to build and maintain compute and design infrastructure supporting the CAS team. You will enable a high-performance design environment and collaborate with IT and engineering to deploy on‑premises and cloud resources.

Ideal candidates have a strong CAD/EDA infrastructure background, scripting prowess, and experience with license management, version control, and Linux-based HPC environments. This role is central to enabling semiconductor development at scale.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 10+ years of CAD/EDA infrastructure or semiconductor design environments experience.
• Experience managing compute infrastructure for semiconductor or ASIC design teams.
• Familiarity with EDA license server management (FlexLM/FlexNet).
• Strong scripting skills (Python, shell, Perl, or Tcl).
• Experience with version control systems (Git, Perforce) in a hardware design context.
• Knowledge of Linux-based HPC environments.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain compute infrastructure supporting CAS design and verification activities.
• Configure and manage EDA tool environments and license servers for the CAS engineering team.
• Support the deployment of HPC clusters and storage systems for large-scale simulation and verification workloads.
• Implement CI systems for design validation within the CAS flow.
• Monitor compute resource utilization and provide capacity planning recommendations.
• Manage EDA tool access, licensing, and version control across the CAS team.
• Collaborate with IT and infrastructure teams to optimize on-prem and cloud-based design environments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues impacting design team productivity.
• Develop and document infrastructure best practices and SOPs for the CAS organization.
