Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an experienced CAD Engineer focused on compute infrastructure to enable the CAS design team. You will build and maintain high-performance compute environments, manage EDA tools and license servers, and support large-scale simulations for ASIC/VLSI workflows.

The role requires strong scripting, Linux HPC knowledge, and experience with version control in hardware contexts, with expected collaboration across IT and CAS teams and potential cloud integration.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 10+ years in CAD/EDA infrastructure or semiconductor design environments.
• Experience managing compute infrastructure for ASIC/semiconductor teams.
• Familiarity with EDA license server management (FlexLM/FlexNet).
• Strong scripting skills (Python, shell, Perl, or Tcl).
• Experience with version control in hardware design (Git, Perforce).
• Knowledge of Linux-based HPC environments.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain compute infrastructure supporting CAS design and verification activities.
• Configure and manage EDA tool environments and license servers for the CAS team.
• Support deployment of HPC clusters and storage for large-scale simulation and verification.
• Implement CI systems for design validation within CAS flow.
• Monitor compute resource utilization and provide capacity planning suggestions.
• Manage EDA tool access, licensing, and version control across CAS team.
• Collaborate with IT to optimize on-premise and cloud-based design environments.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure issues impacting design productivity.
• Develop and document infrastructure best practices and SOPs for CAS.
