Senior CAD Drafter - 3D Modeling & Documentation

Job summary

SAIC seeks a Draftsman to provide drafting and documentation support for NSWC Crane using Creo, SolidWorks and Windchill. You will create/update Technical Data Packages and collaborate with engineers, technicians and CAD operators to capture design details.

Eight years of drafting experience with 3D CAD and PDM are required, along with knowledge of ISO procedures and military standards. Interim clearance is needed to start.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and 8+ years of drafting design experience (electrical & mechanical).
• Experience in 3D CAD software and a PDM configuration system.
• Knowledge of ASME-Y14.100 and MIL-STD-31000 standards.
• Able to communicate complex ideas and work independently or in a team.
• Secret clearance; interim clearance required to start.
• Knowledge of ISO procedures.

Responsibilities

• Create and modify detailed models and drawings using SolidWorks and other CAD software.
• Collaborate with Customer, Engineers, Technicians and other CAD Operators to capture design and update documentation.
• Work independently and as part of a team to implement design/documentation changes.
• Delegate tasks and advise team members while maintaining quick decision making under pressure.
• Maintain configuration management of tasking, files and correspondences.
• Use measuring tools (calipers, gauges, tape, ruler) to aid design development and verification.
• Adhere to military specifications as required.
