Job summary

SAIC in Indiana seeks an Engineering Tech IV to support drafting and documentation for NSWC Crane. You will rely on Creo and SolidWorks, Windchill, and PDM to create and update Technical Data Packages. The role emphasizes adherence to standards, independent work, and teamwork to ensure accurate, timely documentation. The position may require security clearance and the ability to respond quickly in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a related discipline or a high school diploma with a minimum of five years of experience in drafting design, electrical and mechanical.
• Experience in 3D CAD software while using a PDM configuration system.
• Hands-on mechanical/electro-mechanical knowledge and aptitude with understanding of manufacturing processes and ISO procedures.
• Must be detail oriented and able to communicate complex ideas.
• Must be a US Citizen.
• Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance; not needed to start.
• Ability to complete tasking independently and as a team member with detailed or general instructions.
• Knowledge of drawing standards: ASME-Y14.100, MIL-STD-31000.
• Understanding CAD procedures and how to apply them (dimensioning and tolerancing).
• Understanding of Military standards and specifications.
• Preferred: Experience with Creo.
• Proficiency in collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to integrate mechanical and electrical system designs.
• Ability to recreate complex OEM drawings without native files.

Responsibilities

• Creates and modifies detailed models and drawings using Creo and other CAD software.
• Works with the Customer, Engineers, Technicians and CAD Operators to capture design, revise documentation and attend meetings.
• Works independently and in a team to implement design/documentation changes.
• Delegates tasks and provides guidance while maintaining quick decision making under pressure.
• Maintains configuration management of tasking, files and correspondence.
• Uses tools like calipers, gauges, tape measures and rulers to aid design development and validation.
