SAIC in Indiana seeks an Engineering Tech IV to support drafting and documentation for NSWC Crane. Qualifications

• Associate degree in a related discipline or a high school diploma with a minimum of five years of experience in drafting design, electrical and mechanical.
• Experience in 3D CAD software while using a PDM configuration system.
• Hands-on mechanical/electro-mechanical knowledge and aptitude with understanding of manufacturing processes and ISO procedures.
• Must be detail oriented and able to communicate complex ideas.
• Must be a US Citizen.
• Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance; not needed to start.
• Ability to complete tasking independently and as a team member with detailed or general instructions.
• Knowledge of drawing standards: ASME-Y14.100, MIL-STD-31000.
• Understanding CAD procedures and how to apply them (dimensioning and tolerancing).
• Understanding of Military standards and specifications.
• Preferred: Experience with Creo.
• Proficiency in collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to integrate mechanical and electrical system designs.
• Ability to recreate complex OEM drawings without native files.

Job Summary

SAIC is currently seeking an Engineering Tech IV to provide drafting and documentation support for NSWC Crane. In this role, you will work closely with engineers, drafters and technicians, contributing to the creation and updating of Technical Data Packages. Roles & Responsibilities

• Creates and modifies detailed models and drawings using Creo and occasional other forms of CAD Software.
• Works closely with the Customer, Engineers, Technicians and other CAD Operators to capture design, revise existing documentation and attend meetings.
• Works independently as well as in a collective team effort to effect changes to design and/or documentation
• Able to delegate tasking and advice to other team members while maintaining quick decision making under pressure.
• Able to keep Configuration Management of the tasking, files and correspondence as required to complete the task in a quick and orderly fashion.
• Performs a variety of moderate and complex tasks and have the ability to use a variety of tools to include, but not limited to, Calipers, Gauges, Tape Measure, Ruler and other mechanical devices to aid in design development and verification/validation of first article pieces.

• Experience in 3D CAD software while using a PDM configuration system.
